March (photo chain)

A three-dimensional patchwork quilt of sorts.

Still life with empty water bottle and shoes, some worn more frequently then others....outside the entrance of the Vertical Access office.

Taking a peek inside Green Star after a taking
Priscilla’s class on cooking with sea vegetables.

Some of my better looking plants (i.e., they’re alive!)

The late afternoon sun casts lovely blurry shadows of the objects sitting on the bathroom window onto the opposite wall. (two orchids and a wooden giraffe)

One of Donna Dodson’s beautiful part-animal, part-evening-glove-wearing-woman carved sculptures...as seen at the gallery opening at the Windsor Whips Work Gallery in Windsor, NY. Got a chance to talk to Donna and old friend Andy about life in the art fast lane and their up-coming trip to Switzerland as artists-in-residence. Had a fun trip to Windsor with traveling partners Harry and Nora Littell.

Spring’s making an attempt next to our big rock.

Behind our property land lays a plowed-up field, fenced in by Mr No-Trespassing Hagin. Through a break in the fence I grabbed a handful of the iced chocolate.
Hmmm....not as yummy as it looks!

Snow chicken feet

Today is Hannah’s birthday. I'll always remember the 80 degree temperature on the day she was born, not unlike the San Antonio weather she is enjoying now. This week we are suppose to get some snow as hinted at by the photo above, at Stewart Park.

Caught this scene before the light went out altogether. The grey and wet emphasize the richness of the bark from our backyard honey locust tree.

Some college students have vacaciones de primavera esta semana which means spring must be coming. Actually this springish photo was taken last July 4.
Just to get you in the mood...

Marjorie and I took a one day trip to New York City and our only plan was to walk around and observe. We had one scheduled stop to eat at Angelica’s Kitchen.
Muy buena! This photo is the backdrop for a small public garden which had crocus and some forsythia in bloom...so early!

Out the window on a nice day. Walker is talking to Tim McGiff, or at this moment listening to Tim McGiff... and it looks like Tim is saying something funny!

Two reflected images... mirrored and shadow...
in one I'm a photographer and in the other I'm Janis Joplin!

Kitty and that big person she looks up to.

Self-portrait with fruit

There’s a Bogart raiding the refrigerator!

After a delicious carrot soup, salad and bread dinner, we settled in and listen to Charlotte play the cello and then later Nora joined in for a sisterly duet and then a fiesty fiddle solo. Thanks Harry and Pat!

There’s one pear that’s not part of a pair...it’s very apparent.

A bowl of cut up vegetables. Another Friday Night Dinner
at Priscilla and Lewis’....this time accompanied by Marjorie
.

So a turkey walks into a bar and says “If you want my advice...”

Remnants of Dutchman’s Pipe

March 9 | 5:36 pm
Cloud with lightening bolt as seen from a Cornell parking lot.

March 8 | 7:23 pm
Nightmarish view out the living room window at night.
The deck railings cast a shadow in the snow by the outside lights.
The “suture” on the left is made from unknown animal’s footprints.

March 8 | 8:55 am
Dreamy view out the living room window in the morning.

Although now covered with snow, this bent willow sculpture was once part of a public art piece by our friend Andy. After he removed it from its site on the commons, the sculpture now has a home in our daylily garden. It has a different look each season...heavy snow + criss-cross = waffles!

This is a little structure for reservoir mechanics at the Six Mile Creek reservoir.
Graffiti artists making philosophical statements plus leaves embedded
in the ice make a nice contrast, don’t you think?

My fellow hikers immersed in philosophic discussions
in the woods in upper Six Mile Creek region

I did all the work to post this last night....but fell asleep and lost it all! So take 2. This is Lewis pouring that steaming pot of rice into a bowl behind the tropical plant festooned with lights. He and his wife Priscilla (though Priscilla is the main force) host dozens of people every Friday night in their home serving incredibly flavorful macrobiotic fare and have been doing this for 15 years. Last night I made my second journey up the interminably long Coddington  Road in about a year. A great chance to talk to
various interesting people and eat an impressive variety of vegetable concoctions.
(Ok that was much better then my previous sleepy write-up.)

Drove into the Rite Aid parking lot to pick-up some pills for Grammy and came upon
3 or 4 king of the mountain-sized snow piles each with a tall light in the center.

... and welcome to Utah Jr...
One of a handful of exits off our beloved Route 13. (Cayuga Heights)
Stay right and you'll always be correct!

Kent sent me this photo enroute to his great Utah skiing adventure. I hope
there is no connection between the Welcome to Utah sign and it’s reflection.
